Copper market

Just asking. Do you have any personal experience with the retail sporting arms and ammunition business, or is what you are saying just an opinion?

I do in fact have personal experience. I worked in that industry for 5 years

I do as well and Andrew is correct. Small businesses have smaller profit margins due to the smaller purchasing power. And are usually the ones that tend to keep the lower prices to keep their customers happy since they can't affors to loose a single one.

Midway has great customer service, I do give them that, but their prices did go up. Other companies like Powder Valley and others have kept prices around the same or slightly higher, why? They value their customers.

I received an e-mail notice from Starline telling me that .38spl cases were available. Went immediately and made a purchase. I went right back to the site to get a second 500 round order and they were out. Received them 3 days ago, typically stellar Starline quality. The price was about 30% higher than what I paid last year, reflecting the increase in copper prices.

Old Larry took advantage no if ands or buts about it. I also gave in for a few items. Always been a fan but their practices lately have pushed me away in the long run.

This ^^^^^^^^^^^ but you have to understand; it's all about those shoes! Larry had no choice but to fleece his most loyal customers during our most difficult time.

Almost $60 per pound delivered.
What a bargain larry has bestowed upon ye
Every other distributor sells it cheaper and pays more for it than midway does. Midway also pays less for shipping than the smaller shops by volume
These savings on items and shipping never trickle down to the consumer. Thus midway is a scalper, they may not be on gunbroker but they do fleece their customers

We just got a copper shipment a couple weeks ago and saw no significant change in price from the order we received 4 months ago. Basically we have stayed steady. Will see another order arrive in Sept. Will see then.
You are probably on contract on not buying on the spot market.

I know that some stranded THHN #18, 14, 12, etc. wire we have purchased recently in 500ft and 2500ft spools has been double what it was 4-6 months ago. They say Romex is almost triple.

Our copper price is based on the commodity market on the day of shipping. The last order went up about 25 cents per pound in the total price including shipping. Shipping cost did go up due to fuel prices.
