I'm considering a Cooper for my son and was wondering how the recoil was on your light Backcountry? They sell the same build in a "Timberline" model, and it's an even 7lbs. I can't decide which to go with....he is preoccupied with a rifle's kick and I don't need to buy something that will completely turn him away.
my thinking was if the 7mag doesn't recoil too bad in their sub 6lb rifle, it would be a good fit for him.

The Cooper brake is a good one not horribly loud and makes the Model 92 an absolute pussycat
