Concentricity gage

What I found was the most important benefit of my run out gauge was telling me where it was coming from or what I was not doing right in my loading process. What I found was that the expander ball had to go. This was a big issue. Sure there are things that can be done to reduce run out with it, but still an issue. I found that good dies along with a good sizing practice were key in bringing down run out. The press was secondary provided it wasn't damaged. I settled on a Redding body die/Lee collet die set up along with a good seater die. Done wonders for my run out. Having said all this I found that at moderate distance ( 100 yrd) you will need a very accurate rifle to be able to tell the difference between .001 and .003. JME

Did it make your loads shoot better? It made mine shot worse and I adjusted to nearly zero tir.
Not sure why you had that experience without more information about your process's , like destroying consistent neck tension in the aligning work, but I have been correcting run out for years and I believe it helps along with all the other case etc. preparations that I routinely do.
