Component availability for new gun

I hunt mostly in the southeast part of the country where one may think the .280 AI is an overkill, but the versatility of the cartridge is amazing. I have a 7mm-08 that is used in areas less than 100 yards and dense but there are some stands that have 200-500 yard shots ( guys out west are chuckling) and that's when the 280 AI comes in to play for me. 140 gr Nosler Accubonds pushing 3200 fps with good hunting accuracy gets there in a hurry with excellent results. I think you can tell I have an affinity for P.O's wildcat. There are more than enough different cartridges that are outstanding for your wants and needs, so I say go for what you want. Enjoy the process

To help you really "get set" on a 280 AI, here's a recent article on it:

:)
Great article. He will order the Ackley as soon as he finishes reading that article!
I originally was going to build a .280 AI but went with .270 AI instead. Since the article compared/mentioned the .270 Win. An outstanding LRH member shared this article (https://forum.nosler.com/viewtopic.php?f=48&t=37256) to a .280 AI and a .270 AI shooter.
