It will not keep up with the SS even with equal barrel lengths, and especially with a 2.800 coal.......Rich

That's what I wanted to hear. I didn't care for the belted case anyway. Just thought I'd ask.

I am no expert at the 6.5 shorts but here is my 2 cents. I had a 6.5 ss build this spring. Rich set me up with the reamer and some really nice dies as well, if you like to reload and want to learn a few new things (at least I did) the ss is a great little round and will do everything Rich claims it will. If you don't like brass work the ss is not for you unless you can get someone to do it for you then your set. This is really a neat little round and I would recommend it anybody.
