Mules are bad a**.Ol Red is old enough to know what a donkey or mule will do to a coyote. One rancher buddy of mine keeps a mule with livestock in a rather desolate section for protection. Another rancher buddy of mine lost 6 calves this last spring to coyotes. I have yet to convince him to install a mule in the herd.
I lived in Ohio at one time. The only threat to cattle then, besides wild dog packs, was having them stolen during the beef shortage of 1973. That was before coyotes moved in.
Pretty pathetic when they block a** with z's. Go to hammer time...
