Colorado bull

I got this great bull on day 5 of Colorado second season at a little over 200 yards with my 8mm Rem Mag. I did a fair amount of hiking, and was fortunate enough to get this bull only a mile from the road.

Great work and awesome to see the good ole 8mm RM doing the job. Fine deal all around you got going there. 🤠

Sweet, so you took 2 bulls this year. You'll be hitting the grill hard:). We're you guided or on public land by yourself? Well done eh
No, the other bull was in 2016. Both bulls were on public land. The 2016 Utah hunt was a last minute booking of a 4 day hunt with an outfitter, Kevin Mitchell of Lazybar-T outfitters. I had planned DIY but a guy contacted me on Monstermuleys about his guide friend who didn't have anyone booked for the hunt. Pictures of the 380" bull convinced me. I saw a total of 15 different bulls, including a couple of dandies I passed up opening day because of the 380" bull. While I would have loved to have taken the big bull, my goal for the hunt was a mature 6x6. My bull aged out 7 years old and had a huge body. The help on the pack out was welcomed. It would have taken me a couple of days by myself.
This year's Colorado hunt was DIY. I had a guy contact me on Monstermuleys who's son had the same tag. We shared scouting info during the hunt, and they helped me pack out my bull. They had taken a nice 5x5 the day before. Neither of us had hunted the unit before. I was into cow elk every day, but had only seen two spike bulls before I located my bull. My bull was not one to be passed up on that hunt from what my research told me.
