Christensen Barrel Break-In

For every barrel maker and shooter there are different methods of 'breaking in' a barrel. Each time a shooter wins a competition, they are asked what they did to break in their barrel and how many shots between cleaning procedures.

Your barrel will tell you when it's broken in whether it's 50 shots or 200 shots. If that number bothers you because of the current costs of components, do a short version then shoot some groups. Eventually you will notice a change in how it cleans up and if you use a chronograph you might see an increase in velocity.

Pick one you agree with and get started.

My cousin, had bought a Christensen and was telling me about it, so I looked it up. It seem like a lot to me consider all the custom barrels I've done usually required around 20 rounds to be "broken in." So I was just seeing if that was the norm with factory barrels now.

Don't follow that BS , I've never done a barrel break in procedure in my life. Clean before your first outing and clean it when you get home. Done !! That's what I do and I've always had rifles that will shoot 1/2 -3/4 moa.

Christensen break in is ridiculous.
I had 5 Christensen and the ones I could actually shoot with out sending back for performance issues I just shot them and had great accuracy.

Completely agree! The will "break in" with normal shooting sessions.
