Call it which ever way you see it. Might not be newer in Canada, I don't know.
When I spoke with them at SHOT Show it was made apparent to me that it was newer.
Now being an expert on ELR shooting maybe you were apprised sooner than some of the rest of us along with Mr. Heeg. I did not check on Snipershide though...
I was simply putting the information out there because I haven't seen any discussion of it here or on other ELR forums. I've been pretty busy in the shop these days.
LOL we are always last ones at the party.
I just know I had seen that video a while ago, and thought I had seen Paul Phillips shooting with one, maybe they were just prototypes and they actually hit the market now.
The industry throws everything they can at shooters like Paul Phillips and the rest of the tip top shooters. They will be the best at representing new or improved products especially through product placement and endorsements. Many times I see something on the top shooters benches or rifles and then wait 6-12 months before the rest of us 'little people' get a chance to actually handle them. Not unusual at all.
But, I thought it might be a nice post for those of us who don't rate 1st Class treatment by the manufacturers. It is a tad pricey but for shooters who believe that they have to have the best and most expensive, sales are guaranteed.
And yes you may have seen the video earlier but that's the nature of promotions and advertising. Ask Hornady how that works...
Well it's an old thread, but I've been doing some crazy stuff with 22LR and some very impressive results. Honestly its the whole ELR gig with our 416s and 375s down sized but the feed back we are getting is very interesting Environments and Ballistics that need attention in the big gun ELR are twice as important to pay attention in the 22LR and there is no recoil that camouflages error.
So yes we have pushed this system to 700 yards and my scope here is maxed at probably 705 using all the dial then turning down the mag enough to be able to use all the holdover - printing impressive groups at 700 required 29.5 mils of dial and then holding another 30 mils of holdover. Note in my home area Elevation is around 1198 ft
The MK8 with 30 Mils increasements in its dial system actually would simplify my dial and holds from 500 and out. This is at a cost though but no different in any thing else in this ELR rabbit hole.
A few of us that have been in the true ELR gigs since probably 2014 have really got to like the ability to max the 22 LR system for the challenges in areas that can only shoot to 6-8 hundred to 1000 yards here in Wisconsin versus finding a place to test the 416s n 375s needing 2400 + yards to gain any thing and also $$$ no constant barrel changes brass and more you just buy high quality Lapua, SK etc ammo and go.
It really is cool shooting these 22LR and using all the science we use on the big guns in true ELR.
So its very possible this rifle might have a MK8 on it someday fairly soon, who knows.
