My 6.5-284 is my favorite hunting round. I'm confident taking game out to 1000--as long as i do my part. The right load will be 3200+. 3300 depending on other factors etc. It is a common cartridge that people overload (load over reloading manual spec) in CUSTOM rifles. My hunting load is 4 grs above Noslers book load. You'll shoot the barrel out at about 1200 rounds---give or take. But you can have it set back once for a few hundred by a competent gunsmith and it'll shoot just as good the day you got it. I may be on my second barrel soon.
