Also a lot stiffer than a bare #2 in a .338 Edge.

No way would I ever do a #2 in .338 bore. I would have visions of a bulge going down it like a garden hose with each firing

Weight savings is a plus even if it is a few oz. The carbon barrels do look great but in my experience they are hit and miss. I only have one example of a proof doing weird things. Shot great with no can. Poi shift and walked around with the can on. No fault to proof or the smith just it is what it is. It was resolved by re torquing the barrel and runs great now with and without the can. You can dive down a rabbit hole with resins, carbon fiber, weaving, curing and harmonics.

She's pretty!!

I keep flipping between Bart CF and Bart with heavy fluting. With what they can do with CNC fluting it can get radical but at the same time leave good support.
