Can't find primers in large rifle mag or large pistol mag

I might have gotten the wrong imformation from my local UPS hub today, but the gal checked with headquarters about their requirements for shipping primers for me. I have 5,000 Federal GM 210 I would like to trade with someone for CCI 450 small rifle primers.
They said that they can be shipped to an FFL if packaged as
" ORD-M" and marked as small arms. So, if you find a local FFL that won't charge you alot for taking receivership, you could have them mailed. Please double check this imformation with your shipper, but it could be a possibilty.

Yept....bad info from your UPS source....Joe Blow can not ship primers/powder across a UPS Customer Counter or any UPS Store..they are not ORM-D.....they are Haz Mat items which require an additional $22.50 fee + shipping.....shipped from a certified Haz Mat shipping account...ORM-D is 'Other Regulated Material'...loaded ammunition falls in this catagory...and is not Haz Mat and does not require the Haz Mat fee...no air service in either case....they do not have to be shipped to an FFL either...they may require a signature...depending on your vendor..

I've tried as well to find Federal 215 large mag rifles primers and had no luck. I thought I was home free yesturday when after spending more than and hour and a half calling all over the state of Texas, I found 2000 large rifle mag primers in Waco. I asked the guy a couple of times if they were Federal 215 and he said yes. Any way i had a budy go down today to pick them up and they were CCI......

This sux as I have a new rifle that i cannot work on the load without primers!!!

Take Care

My local store has very limited supply also. I did a 1000 CCI 250 today and a 1000 winchester large rifle. I may go back next week and clean them out. The CCI were about $40 per brick.

If anyone wants CCI large rilfe I can give them the name of the shop I talked too, they have 2 bricks (2000). I would be happy with 200 Federal 215's right now. You can bet when I get a chance I will stock up on them.gun)

i went to my small town gun shop yesterday and he had lots of primers until i left.
he had all primers 28.00 per 1,000.
so i bought 10,000 small rifle and 5,000 large rifle.
he had lots of pistol magnums but i did not need any of them.
he told me that next week he is suppose to get large rifle magnums in so i just told him when they came in to call me and i would just take all that he had..
he just smiled and said ok.
i think he believes that i am a real nut case...
my town is only 15,000 people so up until now he had really no need to stock very many.
I travel all over the united states with my job and i am finding out that primers are a big problem every where.

Pressman,

So do you shoot alot or are you just hording, because if you don't shoot a lot you are a part of the problem not the solution!

i shoot about 2,000 or little more a year. myself but i bought this many because 2 of my friends that shoot wanted 2,000 of them. They are so hard to find so i just figured they don't go bad at least not in 4 or 5 years. and you never know what the Government is going to do... As you can tell if they would decide to control the primers instead of the guns... what good is a gun with no bullets.. we all can change powders or some can even make powder.. and we all can do the same with the bullets... but you can not make primers. So if i am part of the problem then maybe i am not the only one thinking this way.
i say large rifle magnums sell for 200.00 for a 1,000 of them on gun broker not to long ago.... So i apologize if this upsets you but i am going to continue to buy them when i find them.

Hoarding is part of the problem, but if you aren't hoarding than you have nothing to apologize for, if you are, and you know if you are , than you are part of the problem. It's a simple concept.
