If you go with Mac's Gunworks, tell Chuck, "Hi" for me when you call him.
I think BFR4570/Ken has more SP's being built by Mac's than anyone else.
Who is going to best him?:D

Just wait if you think its expensive. I bought a striker and then another one. Not even going to tell you how many XPs are being built. Now the bases, scope rings and scopes. But they cant be stock got to send them to Hollands for art retical. Its a ride a expensive one but its fun.:D

What are u guys using for bases? I know the XPs only have a three screw setup, so none that I have for a short action remmy will work.

I have typically used Near Mfg.
BTW-On XP's I have a extra hole added on the back and have the threads opened up. A necessity if you use a rifle scope.
There are some cheaper bases out there though.

Ok guys! Thank you a bunch for all the help and info! Another quick question and I will leave you alone for a while. What's the best caliber xp to build off of? Or is there a custom action that clones a xp and just uses the center grip trigger linkage?

Ok guys, might be stupid question but where do you have the best luck finding XPs for your builds? Kicking myself for not buying a 221fireball a guy offered me for 550

I had a carpenter tell me once " The only way to spell 'COOL' is with dollar bills". This applies to guns. Patience will get you a base xp for $650 delivered from Gunbroker. There are several 7BRs in UTAH for $700. They punch out to 7-08 or 284Win easily. Rebarrel to 6.5x284 easily to. WSM and SAUM cartriges add $$$ for the bolt conversion. 400 yards is easily attainable with conventional optics and cartriges. Brakes, high dollar scopes, big cartrige conversions enable the range to be streched, with the next $2000 gone quickly. This is based on my own experience. I hunt with a JDJ that will reliably hit and dispatch game to 400. Accuracy is 1/2 min. and remains stable at much longer range, but terminal velocity will not expand bullets beyond 500. I currently have a 6.5x284 xp 100 in the works to strech some things out distance wise. Serious Investment. As they say, costs less than a snowmobile or a boat, to keep it in perspective.
