So what is the general consensus over time. Is this really a $1400 rifle for $670? I cannot imagine that.

Well, oddly it shows $934 now and out of stock.

Regardless, I cannot see a 26" barrel 6.5 Creedmoor….with a heavy trigger…
I purchased the Xbolt western long range hunter in 6.5 creedmoor with 24" barrel this spring and didn't hesitate to order the MCarbo spring. It's my third Xbolt and that trigger is the only downside, until you replace the spring.
It's a shooter just like my others.

Wowzer's!!!! Nice shooting.

My Browning HCLR McM in 6.5 Creed is, without a doubt, the most accurate production rifle I've ever owned. It will give a few of my custom rifles a run for their money. I did replace the trigger and it negated the bolt lock but that wasn't an issue for me.

I heard that they have new models out and possibly these are no longer in production?
Just a guess
They are a great off the shelf rifle and I haven't been disappointed yet.
I bought the Max LR in 300WM about 2yrs ago and just saw the same exact rifle on Sportmans for $849 it was all I could do to not buy another one considering the performance running Berger 215 HT over H1000. I agree they are clearing the inventory out so they can switch to the X-bolt 2.
and $2600 for $1100….

Was Browning just over excited when pricing these things. Are they being given away due to trigger?

There is nothing I don't like about the Xbolt? The trigger spring replacement solves the only issue. Browning continues to lead the market with great options in hunting rifles IMO. They were one of the first to offer faster twist barrels in an off the shelf rifles. I understand the issues some have with aftermarket support, but for those that want a reasonably priced hunting rifle that just flat out shoots, the Xbolt is hard to beat.

I bought the hells canyon version in 280AI this spring and cannot say enough good things about it, except for the trigger. A MCARBO replacement spring resulted in a crisp 1.5# pull. It's been a solid 1/2 moa rifle with everything from 90 grain hammers to 195 bergers, I see another one in my near future.
My Max LR 300WM trigger was almost 5lbs from factory and could not adjust it lower than 3.75lbs. Now with the carbo lighter shear spring installed I have it set at 2.5 lbs and no more complaints about this trigger.

Here is my group out of a western hunter long range 270 Winchester factory fast twist barrel with a 165 grain ablr loaded with 56.6 grains of RL26 at 2870fps. Not as good as others groups but still good for the notoriously finicky Ablr.

Nice, very impressive vel. numbers **** shame RL26 is so hard to find and I read recently that they may be shutting down production all together. 56.6 gr of H4831-SC under a 150 gr in my 270 22" barrel gets me 2850 avg at max pressure.

Yea I hope they bring it back in to civilian market eventually. Until then I'm trying to ration what I have. Was planning on trying ramshot grand when I get some time to see if I can get close to my RL26 velocity and hopefully same or better accuracy.
