A barrel is legally measured from bolt face to end of muzzle, you would need to close th ed bolt then stick something down the bore, mark it then measure it--- when browning says 26" that would be from bolt face to muzzle with out the brake
Some companies round off though so measurements may not be exact-- many "16 inch" barrels are often 16.25 or 16.5"
