First off want to say that Remington's Customer Service has been great. I had the bolt handle on a 22-250 Varmint Remington 700 shear off a couple months back (working the bolt by hand) and when looking at it I noticed a lot of porosity in the cast of the bolt handle. Anyways long story short Remington is willing to fix it all for free, but they need me to send my rifle in now to recast the bolt. I kind of got worried when I heard this because I would just have figured they would TIG weld a new handle on and call it good. has anyone ever had this happen? The bolt handle casting was porous from the interior and even had some corrosion problems then finally cracked.
