Broke my 1st inertia hammer ...

Call RCBS, they will replace it FOC.

I have that same model, I beat the snot out of it. Yours must have been a bad molding.

I have a collet puller as well and a Grip-N-Pull. (Did I mention I like tools?)

Quick = RCBS Inertial puller
Hard to pull = Grip-N-Pull
Repetitive = collet puller
Need to save the powder charge - Grip-N=Pull

I broke one that was 30 years old.
They had me send it to them and then replaced with a new one.
Hope the new one lasts longer than yours:)

I have the same puller. I'm going to give mine a good look over and check for cracks. I have been considering the grip n pull, but for now the hammer pulled works good enough. It is kinda erie, that you have to beat a loaded case like it owes you money for it to work though... I showed my brother who doesn't reload how it works, I told him DONT get the ends of the hammer turned, to where you hit the case head end, you would have a bad day. He handed it back to me and said I could do the pulling. Lol

I did sent them an e-mail but they were closed for the weekend.

I posted it on a local FB reloading site and it might be a flaw in the design as 3 of us have the same misfortune and on the same spot.

Went ahead and ordered the GNP and giving it another go.

I wore out a collet on mine. RCBS sent me two new ones. But a press mounted bullet puller is far superior to this one.

Don't be suprized if it happen again. I have broke 5 of them over the years. Only reason I keep useing them is I live where they are made and walk into their office and get a new one.

sucks man, but as noted they should replace it for you free...
I've gone through a couple of those whammer pullers and now only use a collet puller for jacketed and a vise grips for lead... I then melt the lead pills and start over. Hardly have to do that one though...

I've contemplated getting another hammer puller, but I just do not like beating the snot out of everything for a few grains of powder and a bullet...

Just out of curiosity - what were you beating it on?

On wood only! As you can see on the picture, like new and no impact evidence harder than wood ...
