It's the Legacy Sports Levtac in 454 Casull - a lever action rifle with a larger loop. I have a lever action Henry in 45/70 and also in 44 magnum. I wanted one in 454 just because I can carry it with my Freedom Arms in the same caliber. I've been looking for a while for one (both Legacy and Rossi make one in 454) and this all black one came in stock so I got it. It is light years apart from my Henry's - it's hard to describe, basic, minimal, no frills, unrefined. It doesn't even have the pic rail shown in the picture on their website. In fact, I do not see a way to mount an optic. It has the post front sight and leaf rear (the on one website with the pic rail shows a rear peep sight).

I took it to the range today and sighted in at 25 yards, adjusted the rear leaf and moved to 50. It shot surprisingly well considering my bad eyes and the poor iron sights on it. I went to 100 with in on a pig size target and I was able to hit it every time. I was actually impressed since the sight really just covers the target. I shot factory Hornady ammo in it, have not had time to try hand loads yet.
At first it would not cycle ammo and I had to feed each round by hand. After a few shots it started working as it should. I got it through Gallery of Guns so if I have to send it in for some warranty work it will be easy to do.

I intended it to be a hog gun anyway so I guess it will work for me, even as unrefined as it is. As cheap feeling as it was, it still left me smiling and every time it ejected that spent brass in the air.

I forgot to mention, with that solid synthetic stock it does leave a mark. My shoulder is bruised but I do not even mind. It was fun to shoot.

I do not have any pics yet, but it is the black on on this page:

I have the https://www.taylorsfirearms.com/1892-alaskan-chrome-16-357mag-threaded-lc1-220096.html
but with the can the sights are just barely usable. I use the 46 Hybrid for my lever guns. I have most makes and love them. The Rossi's are easiest for me to tune. I shot 3 deer last year with a Rossi .357 16" carbine. It was the first time I tried it on Ohio deer and it worked great! I have a 45LC but I have always wanted a 454 Casull.

Fun rifles ! I have the Rossi in 454 Casull. With handloads the 240 Hornady xtp was 2135 fps velocity and the 300 xtp was1925 fps. Out of my pistol the same loads are 1667 and 1558. The 300 grain load is knocking right on the door of what a 45-70 will do with a 300. The rossi is a light rifle and the recoil is quite noticeable.

Thanks for the information on the velocity. I have always wanted a 454 rifle but didn't know how fast out of a rifle. I too want to carry my 454 revolver and a rifle of the same. BUT, I want a scope on the rifle. Rossi top ejects. I suppose I could put a scout type scope on, but not my preference. I wish Henry or Marlin would chamber in 454.
