Blue dot powder substitute

I haven't been able to find blue dot on the self now for quite awhile now. So I was wondering if anybody has a substitute powder that they have switched to with load data? Looking at the burn rate charts accurate #7 and #9 along with trueblue powders fall right in that range but I can't find any load data for them. I been using longshot and down to my last pound of 800x. I just have so many loads for blue dot that I wish I could find a substitute for it.

I look around for 2400, VV 3N38, No-7, H-110 or N-110, WW-296, and IMR4227 just for starters. Cheers

HP38 / W231 is ideal for all those. You may find you like it a lot better than Blue Dot.

Do you have any 12 gage steel load data for w231/HP38?

Power Pistol and Longshot are pretty solid substitutes for Blue Dot, but neither smells as good, Blue Dot and lead bullets smells like a 22 LOL and it's wonderful. Power Pistol has a brilliant white flash, lots of fun but be aware of it. Don't sleep on Unique, if you aren't looking for magnum speeds Unique IS the best lead bullet powder out there and is superb with jacketed bullets as well.

Sorry guys I'm specifically looking for 12 gage steel waterfowl loads that would be similar to using blue dot. I can find plenty of metallic loads but not for shotgun.

I managed to get a 4lber from midway couple months ago. But with the state of alliant powder we may not see it for a long time

Do you have any 12 gage steel load data for w231/HP38?

No you need a slower powder for shotgun shells. Maybe AA#5 would be better for all your needs.

Gunner1stclass just sold me a 5lb jug of Blue Dot so I think I'm set for awhile. Thanks again Gunner1stclass and for the rest of the members trying to help.
