Blackhorn in stock

Not in my area. Nobody will stock it only substitute.
$170 is stupid crazy.
I never used blackhorn and I don't think I ever will at that price.

At $30/10oz I was a fan, then at $45/10oz I was still buying it, then it went to $45/8oz--- I thought that was bad---but $85/8oz is scalper pricing in my eyes. Glad I still have a few bottles left as I doubt I'd ever buy it at these prices.

I've shot it. Used to be $10 a lb
At sportsman's. With my knight 50 cal using 110gr my muzzle velocity was over 1900 fps.
I thought they stopped making it?

I bought a 5 lb jug awhile ago. still have a fair amount left.

I've been looking at alternatives. The Shooters World black powder looks interesting. I can't seem to find any load info anywhere for it.
Their website shows one load. For a 50cal. they have 100gr pushing a 290gr. at 1700fps.
If this is a direct substitute for black powder, I should be able to use 150gr.
Or is 150 not recommended. They publish little info I could find.
Reviews say it is noncorrosive and burns very clean.
The price is quite reasonable.

Anybody with experience?

I have no experience with shooters world's products at all. I don't know what type of rifle you have.
My knight wolverine manual says never to exceed 120 gr
Of pyrodex. At 110 gr with a 45 Hornady 300 gr xtp I believe my velocity was 1500 or 1600
Fps but can't remember it maybe more.
But the knight is a plunger system the folding breach systems may be safe with more. I Would try to find more info before loading 150 grs.

Wish my son in law shot black powder. I'm 71 with one leg left so i can no longer shoot it. Sitting on a couple of boxes of pyrodex pellets and a couple of cans of black powder. I'm in southern indiana if anyone is interested I would make them a deal. Also have 2 muzzle loaders .

I mean get be interested in a muzzleloader.
I'm currently looking for a 54 caliber hawken if you happen to have one.

Sorry no on hawkins. I have a traditions bolt action 50 caliber that use 11 caps. And another break action that the name eludes me at the moment that uses 209 primers also in 50 .
