Im looking for a bipod that works good for sitting on the ground. Like literally sitting on your butt and having about 27" legs coming off the gun, but with a picatiny mount. I have a gun that has a pic rail up front and i cant take it off, if i did the stock would be ugly underneath there. Any recommendations wiuld be greatly appreciated!

This is not a WTB, this is recommendations.

I believe Spartan make a longer one if weight is a concern at all. I believe one of the best bipods on the market for this is the Hatch bipod. Personally, I'd be looking at a good tripod that's light and you can carry around.

I'm not sure what kind of hunting you do, but a tripod is the best case scenario, you do still need to add a rear support for precision.

Im a coyote hunter. I manage just fine with a bipod, if i were to get into a tripod, i would be over-encumbered when walking out to do my stand.
I totally get what you're saying but a tripod is the way to go. You can get a smaller one and set it up when you get there, with a good ball head, they are way better than any bipod. I've used shooting sticks for coyote hunting and that's one of the better options for adjusting elevation and direction but a really good tripod is hard to beat. Check out those Hatch bipods, they're nice, I really want to get one.

Check these out. They have full line of awesome units.

Tricer BC tripod is 27oz. Works great. This model is for glassing and shooting from sitting position. Max hieght is 40" . Only 17" closed up. You dont know its on your pack. Rated for rifles/weight up to 24 lbs. You can use arca attachment or buy thier saddle clamp for rifle.

This, if budget allows.

Try the ckye pod from mdt. But describes exactly what you're wanting (not cheap though) you could also do a light weight tripod with the arisaka rail (picatinny) slider. The rail slider mounts to bipods or tripods and makes getting it on and off super fast.

I keep waiting on intel on this new one/company but I think that their longer/larger option fits your needs. I was looking at them for the same purpose…to sit and shoot off of. I didn't draw an cow tag this year so it took a backseat to other things.
