I'm going to be ordering an XLR industries chassis for my savage 112 BVSS shortly. Currently the rifle is chambered in 300 win mag, but I'm considering doing a switch barrel setup since it seems pretty simple to do with the savage rifles.

The XLR stock uses 300 win mag magazines from accuracy international. The mags will accept cartridges with a max overall length of 3.625". I'm looking for a .338 caliber cartridge that'll run at least 250gr, preferably 300gr bullets.

I'm thinking about getting the dies and such to load the 338sin, but I'm open to any other ideas at this point. I'm basically looking to get as close as possible to the 338 RUM and still have a functional repeater.

I just sent my action over to Devin at SinArms to make me a 338 sin as well. I looked at the 330 Dakota (which is what the sin is made from) but the round was pretty anemic compared to Devin's improved version.

That is the exact reason why I came up with the 338 sin, maximum cartridge in a standard magnum action and mag well, you would be able to easily load the 250gr bullets and have almost full case capacity with the 285gr and 300gr if not full case capacity.

PM'd you.

I was hoping to avoid going with a cartridge where factory ammo wasn't an option, but the 338 Sin looks like it'll provide the ballistics I'm looking for and still have a functioning repeater.
