The Pulsar Apex is a good unit. I have a Trail XQ 50. The Pulsars don't have the native zoom power that an IR Hunter Mk III has, but can be zoomed up. Mine has the Picture in Picture function.
IME, more native zoom is needed than what most thermals offer..for yote hunting, at least how I do it. Most thermal users are pig hunters, shooting running pigs after the first shot, so they like the FOV, and less zoom.
A great way to do it is to scan with the thermal and shoot with a 6X NV scope, works very well.
My Trail, which ins't the high resolution, can spot yotes at half mile. I can see field mice at 100yds, it's that good. It's not a Trijicon, but for the money the Pulsars are great, IMO.
