So you're wanting to pay a gunsmith to install a pre-fit barrel on your action? IMO, that's just wasting a lot of money and time for something that you can do in just a few minutes with a couple tools / gauges.
That's the whole thing about pre-fit barrel's, they are a DIY thing that eliminates the need / cost of using a gunsmith to install a barrel on an action.
No , as mentioned I dont want to send my actions in. Looking for a smith that makes prefits so I can just buy it and install it myself.

Looking for a smith that makes prefit barrels for Bighorn Origin actions. Almost any cut barrel is fine except Proof.

Who am I missing too?

Alright, I will bite, why not Proof?

That would not be a prefit then. I dont want to send my actions in.
Nice rifles. Agree on the barrels, but looking for a smith that does the prefit. I will look more into PVA.

You are looking for a barrel manufacturer that makes prefits so that you can install them yourself. You don't want to use a gunsmith. That is why everyone is getting confused.

No he is looking for a smith to make a prefit for him. Happens all the time. Not a barrel maker. Smiths stock barrel blanks and can spin up a prefit quite easily.
You are right, and I will clarify. What he is looking for is a basically the same thing. He wants a barrel that has been threaded/chambered etc into a prefit by one of the listed gunsmithing companies and sold over the counter as essentially a new barrel they produce. This is virtually the exact same thing as prefit from any actual manufacturer, you are just adding a middle man to do the cutting. He is requesting a gunsmith, but excludes a specific manufacturer. So which is more important to him, who makes the barrel or who is cutting it?

We are also getting into some grey area as where do you draw the line between say PVA and Osprey? Where does the gunsmith end and the manufacturer begin if they are in house? If Proof threads their own prefits they are a manufacturer but are they also then a gunsmith?

You are just broadening the area to look adding in barrel makers. Yes some do prefits but some don't. Your post made it look like he needs a barrel maker and he doesn't.

As for PVA, not a grey area at all. They have barrel and make prefits. He can go to a barrel maker and get that from one that does it also. Maybe he had a bad experience with Proof. Who knows. His money to get what he wants.

You do not have to send your action. As others commented, any reputable gunsmith can chamber your choice of barrel, just as you noted above. Make sure to provide the necessary action information the gunsmith needs. When I ordered my CarbonSix barrel for my custom build, they offered to perform the chambering; if I sent my custom reamer to them, it would have been cheaper, but I want the quality of the work that my gunsmith has been providing me since 2003. Good luck!

No I don't necessarily want a barrel manf…but if you know of one please recommend them.

So Carbon six does makes prefits for Origin actions?

This would not be a prefit. Cut costs and time if you use prefits…IMO

You can do this though and send a blank to a smith to have him make a prefit with it. I have done it in the past. If the smith doesn't have the blank you need and you can find one then you just ship it over to him. Not the action. Just the blank.

What barrel are you looking for as in steel or carbon fiber? Caliber, contour and twist?
