Best short barreled 6.5 caliber??

Bottom line, the 6.5 Remington Magnum a real sleeper and has been since the late '60s in both 22" and 24" barrel rifles. When it came out in the Remington M700 it was way ahead of its time. I had one of the early rifles (M700's) and it was a tack driver right out of the box.

RULES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

6.5x47 is an overlooked cartridge.

My wife's is shooting 129ABLR at 2922 and I'm not pushing it at all. I have it in a Rock Creek #3 barrel at 22" and it is a dream to shoot.

I could push it close to 3000 fps but 80fps ain't gonna matter that much.

Not that any of the cartridges mentioned above aren't great but the way things are going today and in the foreseeable future I'd pick that boring .260 remington, when we can't find the base .308 casings if nothing else all of those mentioned will be long dead or extinct...
