Best eye box scope?

Looking for a mid level scope with the most forgiving eye box for a youth rifle. Thinking a simple 3-9x40 or even a 2-7x32 or something similar. This is not a long range rifle just a youth 7-08. Anyway just wondering what's out there? I wanted a forgiving eye box to make it easier for the kid to get in behind the scope comfortably.

Recommendations? Thanks all
Your post reminds me of when I started my boys shooting/hunting with a 6.5x55 Swedish Mauser 26 years ago. I went with Leupold Vari-XI, IIRC, for its forgiving eye relief.

For your consideration -the Leupold VX-Freedom 3-9x40 Hunt-Plex (https://www.leupold.com/vx-freedom-3-9x40-hunt-plex) with an MSRP of <$300, the eye relief is 4.2" at the low mag and 3.7" at high mag. Good luck, and thanks for passing on the tradition.

That scope already caught my eye. It's in the short list. Kiddo is turning 9 this year and has taken a keen interest in hunting.

Of the scopes I've owned (Leupold, Burris, Vortex and Zeis), Leupold has the most forgiving eye box in my estimation. The Zeis Conquest was the worst.

The above mentioned Leupold Freedom series scope would be an excellent choice.

What attracted me to Leupold is the forgiving eye box, generous eye relief and wide FOV. When I settle behind my VX5HDs, especially on lower powers, there is no "tunnel" effect like looking through a paper towel roll. The magnified glass image goes all the way to the edge and stops at a thin black ring in my peripheral vision. It's excellent for hunting.
