What's a good DIY release agent?
Yup! The one I pictured is a Remington Custom Shop .223, I tried 3 different rails, so out comes the JBMine is on the action of my favorite rifle. Shoots great, but the exterior dimensions must be off. Or the other rifle I have is off lol. In any case about a .0092" shim should fix it. I'll cut something around .010" and call her good.

I'm pretty sure Brownells thick stuff is this same stuff re packaged.
Not claiming it's the best, just what I have on hand all the time
I use kiwi neutral shoe polish . give it 2 or 3 coats , buff it off , works great .What's a good DIY release agent?
