What's a good DIY release agent?

Mine is on the action of my favorite rifle. Shoots great, but the exterior dimensions must be off. Or the other rifle I have is off lol. In any case about a .0092" shim should fix it. I'll cut something around .010" and call her good.

Yup! The one I pictured is a Remington Custom Shop .223, I tried 3 different rails, so out comes the JB

Going to investigate Darryle's suggestion as well. In the mean time I use Devcon Aluminum putty as it is superior to the other Devcon putties for this purpose. A post that I made a while back comparing all of them:

I use kiwi neutral shoe polish . give it 2 or 3 coats , buff it off , works great .
