Best action in the $1k range

1k and under...
#1 Kauger vpr, 1.062x16 (rem 700 tenon) interchangeable bolt heads, coned like a Bergara or standard 700 breech face cut for remage, 20moa rail, integral lug, easy to pull the firing pin assembly and or swap bolt heads, 80 or 90 degree bolt throw, several bolt knob choices, long or short action available for right at 900$, also available in single shot, also available with 338lm bolt head for another 40 bucks, all 700 short or long footprints. BDL or AICS cuts, several options on bolt fluting, ridiculously smooth, push feed, plunger ejection.

#2 Origin $900 for a short action, only sucks that it's 100 bucks more for a long action, cons to the Kauger, not quite as smooth, long action is 100 bucks more, recoil lug is pinned. Pros to the Kauger, mechanical ejection, controlled round feed, a large prefit market fixed and variable shoulder.

#3 Aero Solus, you just can't beat the features for the current street price, they'll never be as smooth as the Kauger or the Zermatt, but at <700$ having a 700 footprint, taking 700 triggers via hanger, bayonet quick release firing pin assembly, 60 degree 3 lug with interchangeable bolt heads, 20moa integral rail, integral recoil lug, accepts Savage variable shoulder prefits or Origin shouldered prefits. Cons are really that they don't release stuff often enough, took Aero almost a year to release the magnum bolt head, then nearly as long to release the 223 bolt head and the long action, still haven't released long action accessories, still haven't released a ppc or spc bolt head, they can be finicky about which mags you use because of the third lug, they're a little on the heavy side, bolt lift is a little heavier although that's expected with a 60 degree. Two things that can be pros or cons, these are push feed, so that's preference, they also have dual plunger ejectors, so be warned they will send your brass into orbit.

The other 3 that I call runner ups, that are mentioned quite often, are great actions as well, but at the end of the day, they are just what the remington 700 should have been from the get go, these are the Mack Bros Evo II, Bergara Premier, and Weatherby 307 builders.

This is obviously just my opinion, and we all know about opinions and A$$holes, I'll still give my opinion and I'll still be an A$$hole though.
