Best action in the $1k range

Is the Origin still considered by many to be the best action in the $1k range?

What do you guys use or recommend?
If you can stretch your budget by $77, you can get a BAT igniter. Same quality as all the $2000 bat actions, bare bones for features. If I was looking for the most accurate custom action for the least possible money, that's the route I'd personally go.

The origin is still just as good as it always was and is still a darn fine choice. Far better than the $900 builders actions some big box companies are starting to sell like Bergara.

Impact also has a basic model that I'd look into.

The origin ejector blade needs to slip over the case head of just loading one into the chamber.... not from magazine. I have heard of reports that this can be stiff to snap over case head.
You are right.
It does snap over when single loading as it's a CRF style but I just run the bolt a bit quicker and hardly notice it.
However, they are on hunting rifles and are mag fed and smooth as any.

The Origin is a great action, and I like mine a lot, but recently it has found stiff competition in the Aero Precision Solus. I have one of those too, and I won't say I prefer it over the Origin, but it is right there with it. They each have their advantages. I like the controlled round feed and lighter weight of the Origin, and in the Solus, the integrated rail and recoil lug, and 60 degree bolt throw.

While the Origin is great, with Northland Precision selling Solus Obsidians for $750, were I getting another action, I might have to go with the Solus.

I really like my Origins. I do have an Aero Solus action as well. It's pretty decent for the price and being able to use the same barrels as my Origins is very handy and to a less extent Savage barrels. I wouldn't mind a couple of the lightweight Solus actions just to have for my kids.

I have pretty much settled on the Origin tenon for any new actions so I don't really know what else is out there.

M⁰0p0yx vfd 665556y7I'm sorry, but I have no hands-on experience with them. I know some LRH members have used them. IIRC, @bamban or a friend used the Valhalla. Hopefully, he'll chime in.

We bought 3 Valhalla actions for our 338 NM projects. I chambered all 3 barrels. Before I finished my own, I decided to sell the barreled receiver. One of my friends with the other barreled receiver wanted my AIAX chassis to finish his. So, I sold it to him

At the last outing at a Guard base, the said friend zeroed his rifle at 100 and then crancked up for the 800 silhouette. Why the 800? It was the only one with one splatter hit. He fired 3 consecutive rounds - chest area group.

Edit: The PTG actions were on sale at that time for under 700. The deal was hard to pass up.
