If you can find any AA3100, this is my powder for the 95's. A gave the same load to a friend who purchased a T-3 in .243 and he shoots bug holes at 200. Production was stopped on 3100 a while back. N-165 will get you close to the same performance velocity wise.

I'm only at 75 feet above sea level so maybe that's why I'm only getting 2970 MV with the Superformance. It will group about 1 1/2" at 400 yds so I haven't pushed the envelope on the round, plus this savage has only a little pencil barrel. Getting ready to fire lap with the Tubbs Final Finish next week. That may help just a little??
Thanks for all the info/advice. Here in NE I'm about 4000' above the sea. Last night I put together some 105 Amax on 39.5g of 4350, some 95g match kings with 38.5g of varget and taking some of my 87g Vmax's on 37.5g of varget. All using CCI LRM primers.
Like I said I'm in NE so some wind is always an issue and I'm not really worried how fast I get to the target just that I get there and impact where I want to! I'll let you know how things turn out at the range later today. Thanks again for all the advice!

Two loads that are working great for me using 105 Amax and 105 VLd's.
243 win, win brass FL, wolf LR primer 105 amax. 41.5grs. H4350 (over max) no pressure signs. seated .025" off lands. getting 3050 fps in 26" barrel.
Same as above 105 VLD, using CCI-250 mag primer, H1000 @ 46grs. seated .010" off lands. getting 2850 fps in 26" barrel.
Both shoot almost same POI and do very well out to 1K. checked groups at 320 yards and getting sub moa or a little better. Seems like the VLD's to do better in flight.

Yes, please do let us know how it works out. We might be pretty close to one another geographically, I am in eastern WY, between Newcastle and Lusk, but west some.
@ James H, Yes I am in western NE, Scottsbluff. The 600yrd Varmint and 1000yd F class shoots are in Aliance NE. We also have some here in 500yrd Varmint matches here in Scottsbluff.

I work for UPRR and had to work out of Lusk for 3 months this last fall and spent a lot of my off time at the range there.

So for the range results. I shot 100 and 300yrd groups. 300 is as far out I could go at this location. It was mid to upper 30's for temp, 70% humidity, 5-10mph RH wind. Used Caldwell dead shot shooting bags off a bench. All 5 shot groups, 3 groups at 100 and 300 for each load. Cleaned gun after each 5 shot group. Used a Vortex Viper 4-12x40 PA BDC to look down range.
105g Amax: Best= .9" @ 100, 4.3" @ 300. Avg= 1.3" @ 100, 6+" @ 300.
95g Match Kings: Best= .7" @ 100, 3.6" @ 300. Avg= .9" @ 100, 5.6" @ 300.
87g Vmax: Best= .3" @ 100, 2.3" @ 300, Avg= .5 @ 100, 2.8" @ 300.
I think that if I played with powder loads a little I could make the 95's shoot just as good as the 87's but is it worth the time and money?

I guess it's a matter of how much wind are you planning on shooting in. Considering that your V-Max loads are averaging just under MOA, and the other two are averaging twice that, I personally wouldn't see any benefit to going heavier (unless you can easily get the 95's to shoot as good as the 87's), .................so long as we're only talking 600 and closer, the added BC of the 95 doesn't overcome the unexpected fliers that could likely come about with less accurate ammo.
According to the ballistic program; the 95's will decrease your wind drift in a 10 mph crosswind at 600 yds by only 3 inches over the V-Max (assuming velocities of 3100 for the V-max and 3000 for the MK). We're basically looking at two feet of drift at 600 with either bullet. Another way to look at it, possibly misjudging the wind by 3 mph will only make 1" of difference at 600 yds between those two bullets.
In theory, at 600 yds, as it stands now; the 95's could land some bullets 6" from point of aim, whereas the 87's would land some bullets 3" from point of aim. IMO, the extra 3 inches of uncertainty in any direction easily cancels out the 1" benefit of higher BC (again, unless you could get the 95's to shoot as good as the 87's).....................Hopefully I said all that so it makes sense.? It's your cat though, you can skin it however you wish.
Pleased to meet ya neighbor. Maybe I'll try to make it to one of these varmint matches in the future, I know where Scotsbluff is for sure, my sis used to live in Alliance. I've never shot the range in Lusk or Newcastle, I've got one here at home luckily.
