Berger VLD match for hunting?

People with this ammo shortage, I will have to go hunting Aoudad sheep with a 7mm rem mag and Berger's VLD Match 168 bullets
The question is, am I making I mistake?
I'd read already some post, old post, that talks about good results hunting with VLD match and Hybrid Berger bullets

Get ready for a dumpster fire of responses but I would check that that the tips are open and keep them off of heavy bone at high impact velocity's and you will be just fine.

The only major difference is the match bullets have a slightly thicker jacket. The previous advice is correct about keeping them off heavy bone. If you ran heavy for cartridge, then this wouldn't apply (like the 215 gr in a 300wm).

I think it will work just fine. But if you're concerned order some hammer hunter bullets. In stock and you'll have them in a couple days. Lots of load data on this site.

A friend uses the 168gr 30-06 VLDM on his deer hunts and a large family in Southern Az hunt with Sierra Matchkings exclusively. Perhaps the thicker jacket helps?

Don't let the mental game get to you. Place those VLD's where their supposed to be placed on the shot and you'll be successful. Aoudad are not that tough, you won't have a problem.

Hey Corky, maybe lay into the accelerator a bit and get the old Delorean up to 88MPH so the flux capacitor can take you back to 1955 when Core-lokts were at the top of bullet technology?

Meanwhile, here in the real world, there are plenty of freezers full of game and lots of dead varmints taken with Berger VLD-M and Hybrids.

Nothing worse than a know-it-all that talks out his mud flap while telling the rest of us free citizens what we should and should not do.
