Arizona Game and Fish Department and Commission, Berger Bullets and Nightforce Optics partner on a $420,000 range enhancement project.

Phoenix, Arizona (February, 2015) –- The Ben Avery Shooting Facility has been presented with a $420,000 donation from Berger Bullets and Nightforce Optics. The Arizona Game and Fish Department and Commission which owns and operates the Ben Avery Shooting Facility have applied this donation to the addition of a new multipurpose building and expansion of the parking area at the 1,000 Yard Rifle Range. These additions will enhance the comforts and experience of those who enjoy and want to pursue long range recreational shooting.

Berger Bullets President, Eric Stecker relays, "In a time when some states purposefully act to discourage a recreational shooting community in their state, Arizona is demonstrating that it is among those states that are actively working to benefit the law abiding, shooting sports enthusiasts."

During the SW Nationals long range shooting competition which hosts 350 shooters from all over the world, a special ceremony will be held at 8:15 AM on February 14th, 2015 at the Ben Avery Shooting Facility's 1,000 Yard Rifle Range. Highlighting this event will be the National Anthem played by Dr. Jesse McGuire. Dr. McGuire will be supported by the Color Guard from Carl Hayden High School, a fireworks display and an aerial presentation by vintage World War II planes. There will also be a dedication of the range to US Air Force veteran and World Champion rifle shooter Middleton "Mid" Tompkins.
