I've been using mainly Hornady Superformance 139 gr. SST and occasionally Barnes 120 gr. TTSX bullets in my 7mm-08 for Whitetails. I'm thinking about trying the Berger 7mm 140 gr. Match Hunting VLD bullet. Longest shot would be a little over 300 yards from a 14.5" barrel. I'm looking for better "Knock-Down" power, but I've read conflicting reviews on this bullet. What's the minimum velocity for proper expansion/shedding? Anyone experience any issues with this bullet for close-up, or up to 300+ yards shots?
