Guys looking for some input just purchased a Bergara B-14 in 22-250 with 1:9 twist rate having trouble getting anything less that 11/2" group any info would be appreciated

I would start over.

Remove scope, rings and bases.

Remove barreled action.

Re-install everything making sure barrel is floating, recoil lug correctly positioned, screws not too tight and not contacting action.

Same with base and rings. What scope? If scope is questionable, mount it on a .22 and sight in then bump it and shoot again. make sure not an issue in scope. If scope good, re-install and shoot.

If still no better than 1.5 moa, check crown for burr.

After that, send back to Bergara.

Staball 6.5 and Hornady 68 grain bthp's are loved by mine. Definitely want to make sure all your screws are torqued to factory specs, and you're shooting bullets the barrel with stabilize, but they are guaranteed to shoot MOA or less if I'm not mistaken. Mine will not stabilize any bullets heavier than the 68's that I've tried, however, but it will put five of them in a ragged hole at 100 yards.

@Sealepretty much covered it. Also make certain nothing is binding as you torque the action screws (recoil lug, bottom metal, etc...), and make sure it's seated firmly against the recoil lug as you do.

Factory ammo or reloads?

If the mini-chassis contact points are painted over, remove the paint to get down to bare aluminum.

Small bore 50 meter, reduced to shoot @50', SHOT @100 yds! Less than 100 rds down range, breaking in!
