Bedding Vanguard in Boyd's stock

Home Depot has brass colored aluminum tubing that is threaded for light fixtures. Take one of your action screws and get the size that fits and cut off what need, then you will have extra. It is not expensive. It is what I use.
Looks like this.

Your Ace Hardware Store has to have these parts in the lighting department

And if you don't want to use the lighting ones.. They should have a rack of different size brass and aluminum tubes.. of various diameters.

Buy everything here:

Or use these:

Realizing that you have to flip over the one piece and have the two flat portions on the ends of the pillar, not the notch.

The first link gives you the option of pillars, bedding supplies, etc if you look through his store. I've used his epoxy a few times.

If you're going to do it, do it right by buying the right parts.

With a Boyds, the underlying laminate is so strong that you're only gaining a small improvement by adding pillars. I've done them without pillars, and had no problems. As I noted before it adds a whole other level of complexity to your bedding job, and if its your first one....

I already have these
My concern is that the rear pillar hole takes out all the wood
Umm, yeah, and...? Last time I checked, metal was more solid than wood.

If you want pillars, you install pillars and the stock material goes bye-bye.
You don't want pillars, you bed it and move on with life.
Or, install the front one and not the rear. As I said before I don't think you will see much difference between 0, 1 or 2 pillars with this stock.

Don't overthink it.
