Bear Elevation

planning my first spring bear hunt for next spring in Montana.

Wondering what elevation I should be looking in.. example do bear live higher than 8,500 ft?

Not familiar with MT, but would look where the food is. Hopefully a Montanan chimes in for you.

All depends on where your hunting I've killed them at 4000ft to 10000across the state

Depending on snow pack, I wouldn't count on getting to 8500'.
