Appreciate info given. I did read no fluting on 2b. debating on 2b or fluted 3-3b for my 284 win build I'm doing. Not trying to do superlight build, but nice packable rifle with 22-23" barrel.

A 2b threaded and chambered cut to 24" should weigh approximately 3.2 pounds not fluted.
Fluted may save you 1.5 ounces.
Fluting is primarily for aesthetics.
If you want to save weight buy a lighter stock or buy a lightweight action.
