145s should work great, especially in the 280AI. But the rule is go lighter when switching to solids.I was (am) in this boat as well. I shot 140 AB's in my 280 ackley. As they became nonexistent I switched to Barnes 145 LRX. Haven't started load development yet so I hope I made the right choice over the 139's.
Yea, that's what one of the guys at Barnes said as well. 1 grain lighter or 5 grains heavier. Figured it was marginal. Hopefully they shoot.145s should work great, especially in the 280AI. But the rule is go lighter when switching to solids.
I read somewhere that the 145's expand down to 1600 and the 139's expand down to 1400.I think I read that the 145 actually expands at 200 do's than the 139. Will try to find the citation
