Badlands BD-2 load data

.308 1:10 20"proof research barrel, Remington action trued, Pacific tool and die bolt, Magpul Hunter stock and Vortex viper PST
150 Grain BD2 .02 off jam, 1X fired Lapua brass neck turned to .013, .020 neck tension, CSI LR primer Hodgdon Leverevolution.
Ladder
48.3-3066
48.6-Brain fart
48.9-3095
49.2-3097
49.5-3143
49.8-3132
50.1-3135
50.4-3138
50.7-3145 Heavy Bolt
51.0-3158 Real heavy bolt
Going to do a 5 round test at 49.1 and 50.1 then try a little seating ladder but i understand that .02 is usually a sweet spot.
Impressive stuff. Can you give me what your COAL or CBTO was? Is your rig a long action or short action?

Short action. i will look back at my notes on COAL and CBTO, it was .02 off of jam but i will get back to you.
Clyde has a very effective rig and load there. About 3000 + ft-lbs of bullet energy in a high BC and highly penetrating 150 gr all copper bullet in a very portable short barrel rifle. No compromise there. I have shot a large Coastal Black Bear in Alaska with that combo, one shot and done. Penetration was 32+- inches quartering through the chest. Will kill anything on North America.

2-5 shot groups in middle of nodes found in previous ladder,
49.04 Gr Leverevolution
1-3082
2-3095
3-Did not register
4-3099
5-3111
SD 11.9

50.10 Leverrevolution
1-3137
2-3149
3-3156
4-3145
5-3124
SD12.2

Did everything i could do to keep consistent, shot "warm up" shots, keep barrel between 98.5 and 100.2 (97 out side today) with barrel chiller. Both shot same grouping neither was great, should I try another charge? or just roll with 49.04? and start seating testing.

So 150 BD2 in new virgin Alpha SRP brass, COAL 2.910, 49 LeverEvo, CCI SRP mag primer, no pressure, 3058 FPS average, SD of 12, in 18" 1/10 barrel. Accuracy is MOA or slightly better. Outdoor temp 92. I can get this better with changing seating depth and once I fully prep fired brass.

Went to 49.5 and had beginnings of flattening on primers.

I'm going to back off to 48 and work up in .02 increments and see what I get. I'm still at the range but will do a H20 capacity later today or tomorrow.

Good day gents!

I would stick with 49.04 gr and do a jump ladder. Also I would full length size the cases to assure more consistent neck straightness rather than use bushing dies.

Do you have pictures of the groups?

No unfortunately i do not i will post some of seating ladder.

I was going to start at .017 off and work down to .032 off in increments of .03. Suggestions?

Not to ruin or highjack the thread but I could not get the Badlands SBD-2s 250 to work on my 338
I had high hopes with the first try at them while working load development but I could never get that one group to replicate
EVER!
150 rounds of trying to make it happen but never replicated
In fact it just got worse
Standard load always preformed during the trails on this
I've moved on
I think 150 rounds in development is enough
Onward
