Here is a picture I took this morning of my daughter and the obvious signs that are not too good. For those of you not having to yet deal with this, these tracks intercepted a small group of elk numbering 5-8 that we were trying to locate. In this photo is a frenzie of tracks where they tried to cut a calf from the herd. Back tracking the wolves showed a pair hunting together jumping the herd. About 150 yards down the track from this photo another pair tried to ambush the herd from the right. No blood, no drag marks all evidence appears the herd escaped. As you can see by the size of the track it was nice of the program to plant northern Canadian wolves to the lower 48. It appeared that this all took place within 4-6 hours of us cutting the tracks. The track in the photo is large even for the Canadian strains.
