Here is a picture I took this morning of my daughter and the obvious signs that are not too good. For those of you not having to yet deal with this, these tracks intercepted a small group of elk numbering 5-8 that we were trying to locate. In this photo is a frenzie of tracks where they tried to cut a calf from the herd. Back tracking the wolves showed a pair hunting together jumping the herd. About 150 yards down the track from this photo another pair tried to ambush the herd from the right. No blood, no drag marks all evidence appears the herd escaped. As you can see by the size of the track it was nice of the program to plant northern Canadian wolves to the lower 48. It appeared that this all took place within 4-6 hours of us cutting the tracks. The track in the photo is large even for the Canadian strains.

They where killed off for a reason! Protecting a peditor is bad news!! If they want wolves they should have put them in DC or California where they couldnt hurt anything

The good news is that at 1000 yards plus, they can be "mistaken" for coyotes!!! Just don't go over and look at them after they eat a 338 bullet!!!

You are right nowever about the issue with us getting the Canadian wolves. They were supposed to be planted in Yellowstone to control the bison population, to bad there are only a few wolf packs in the world that actually hunt bison. The ones planted in Yellowstone certainly were not from those packs!!!

I would agree with SS7mm, SSS!!!!

Maybe we need to organize the triple S club!

I will be glad to sit on the board of directors for the "Triple S" club. As of now, the only reason I'm not a member is opportunity. Be assured if I had the opportunity there would be no question about membership.

When the season opens on wolves i'm going hunting until i get one !

Hey -say i take a shot -maybe "wing" a wolf but i don't find it -can i keep hunting ?

2008 is the projection.

There's a show about how the wild wolf is so endangered on animal planet right now.
These people are funny.
I just watch it [25-06 in hand] and dream of the day .

There will be a season w/a draw like other big game hunting.
