Are Ti Actions Worth It?

I don't disagree with you, but I've got back issues, so trying to cut gear weight on top of body weight. 8oz here and there can add up quick. Plus most of the time we end up carrying more crap than we really need.
haha. true.
carry less crap lol

I have had lower back (L2/3) issues (among other things) for over 2 decades and getting into shape is what allows me to do my outdoor activities.

You dont need one even on a sheep rifle
We don't need a lot of stuff. But if you have the means why not.

It's easy to say get in better shape. But at a certain age that will never work. Absolutely no way my father pushing 80 is gonna get in better shape next year as he is this year. Ounces add up. Shave it off the action, scope, stock, and all the stuff you can allowing you to have it in places you can't.
Again for $500 more why not. Especially for a sheep gun. Everything else equal even being in shape the Ti action is gonna be better for weight and carrying.
I have two twin ultra lights one short action one long 6.5 man bun and a 30 Sherman.
For those two I definitely think it was worth it. I have one more build on my list to try and make an even lighter rifle for 500 yards and under. I even have ti action screws cut for mine. Do I need them nope but part of the fun is the build and being different. So if you are even thinking of one go for it.

That's a big part for me, my back acts up but my ankle has only so many miles, the lighter I hunt at gets me farther in, I can pack heavy one trip out then take care of it. The rifle balance is also big to me and Ti actions can help.

What are you rocking for sheep gun?
Ive shot a few with a 6.5x284, 257 wby, 300 wsm, 300 norma
First dedicated sheep rifle i got was a fierce titanium ct edge because i thought thats what you needed..... Nope... They show pressure earlier, they arent as smooth, their weight savings ends up being irrelevant. The other thing is the lighter weight rifles arent as recoil friendly. When your shooting at extreme angles it becomes an issue that most guys dont usually account for.
Lately Ive been using a 300 wsm, bighorn sr3, 22" benchmark carbon barrel, in a gunwerks magnus stock, with a tangent theta 3-15
Ill take the confidence of a higher quailty set up vs 2-3 lbs anyday
People will make a big deal about every oz. But when it comes down to the time to shoot, are you going to shoot the smaller ram because it weights less?
