Recently purchased a Bergara B-14 HMR in .300 WM. After researching muzzle breaks, I ordered a Sidewinder self timing break from Area 419. The break is massive and dwarfs the barrel. My goal with the break was to reduce recoil and be able to spot impact. Achieved both!! The .300 recoils less than my .308. I am very impressed with the Sidewinder! Check them out for details on it.

They are great brakes. My buddy put one on his 6.5x47L that weighs approximately 9-10lbs. Rifle shoots like my 22 Dasher

Still not seeing it. Side ports vs top port. Self timing vs timed. Please point it out to me.

It's a BIG BLACK CYLINDER hanging off the end of small diameter barrel. We used to refer to the Cutts Compensators as 'corn cobs'.

I like the way it looks!

A suppressor is way to expensive and I don't care for one on a hunting rifle.
I have several in my gas guns.

Recoil reduction is awesome!!!!

Opinions vary as with most discussions. But suppressors on hunting rifles is exactly where they belong. Just ask the British. It's about the only thing they've gotten right as far as firearms are concerned.;)

The only reason suppressors are expensive is because of the laws we have in place controlling them. Europeans buy them over the counter and they are inexpensive even by comparison to their economics. Right now Bix & Andy triggers are selling for $500.00 and I just saw a brass preparation center selling for $2,400.00 but my suppressor cost $600.00 + the tax stamp. It works on my competition rifle as well as a couple of my hunting rifles. Go figure.

Enjoy!

Yup, opinions vary. I do hunt coyotes with a suppressed AR but see no need for it on any other hunting rifle. That said, I do understand many hunters love them. To each his own. :)

Buying one over the counter would be awesome!!!!!!
