It's a standard thread pitch bolt handle... for pennies on the dollar it will be relegated to the spare parts bin to be played with at the range. Not exactly a tough or expensive solution.
Not to mention they offer about 4-5 alternatives
If I'm not mistaken Vodoo has to jump through a lot of hoops to do that. Applications and approval with ATF. I remember PVA did the same with the ARC Nucleus and it was 2 years before rifles shipped.
Yeah I'm not entirely sure what exact issues plagued the John Handcock rifle but neither Ted nor Josh would elaborate. But it seems to be in the past now as Ted sent him a CDG prototype and Josh was excited to get the ball rolling on prefits.
Looks very nice, just heavy. I'm also not a trigger hanger fan. Have a tempest and had to get additional hangers from GAP and find the one that would actually work safely and not just let the trigger go off when the bolt moved when I changed from a Triggertech Special to a Triggertech Diamond. Have never had an issue with Defiance and Zermatt/BigHorn non-trigger hanger actions.
That's why this hanger is adjustable so that you can adjust it for variations in different triggers to avoid that issue.
The point is I don't think they are needed. Never had an issue with any trigger on a Defiance or Zermatt without hangers. The adjustability causes more issues than it solves.
I agree with why the trigger hanger is needed. I don't really understand why they're needed. I have a Kelbly Atlas with and one without. Without was easier to deal with. No mod to stock, nothing. Slap it in, adjust pull weight, and hit the range. What is the primary function of the trigger hanger? Why is it needed, better, etc???
I did not have that experience my zermatt action had an absolute ton of cock on close, so I did not experience that.
It also had so little cock on open that it could not simply be timed with sear material removal to eliminate that coc without being low on travel, so a hanger mod would have essentially done the same. I sold it to someone excited about light bolt lift and moved on with a free education
Hangers are used in some situations for glued stocks to access triggers. They are also used so you can move the location of the trigger and "time it" for closing effort. Though if used in that manner it is a bit of a shortcut that doesn't address lost pin fall. I have heard them used in the opposite to add pin fall in situations with rifles having fliers

They have been consistent on that hide thread that there is enough pin fall with no closing cock at all built into the system, so the self timing wouldn't cause issues…
I wish they would say the number, as different manufacturers have different definitions of "enough" especially tactical ones vs accuracy discipline manufacturers/ smiths. Maybe that's why they won't.
I know Alex wants .240"+ if you call kelbly they will tell you they are looking for .240-.260 but it will cock on close and not to "time" out that cock with hanger mods to below .240 and risk accuracy detriment from ignition.
The tactical world seems is just getting to the timing idea and I know of some tactical smiths that offered to file my cocking piece and said pin travel doesn't matter. I think they are behind BR in this, and from my view of posts by people worth a . those guys already dealt with that rabbit hole and the guys on top are putting travel back in.
I may order one and find out. It looks like a great action and the lever based primary extraction lets them lift easy with heavy springs (arch is 30lbs)
