We get best velocity with RL-15 and 165 gr bullet. Need the medium fast powders for .308.
What velocities are you getting? I use TAC, RL15, and H4895 for 308 win. But Varget has been one of the go to powders for 308 win.Anyone have load data for reloader 26 in 308 Winchester ? I'm not getting the velocity I want with varget, case is stuffed full, still no pressure signs and not as fast as I want. I have a big jug of rl 26 and it has done amazing things in other calibers including 6.5cm so I'm thinking it should work for 308.
With that temp range I'd stay away from RL 26. Some have had pressure spikes when they get over 80 degrees. I use 165gr to 175gr with TAC and RL15. And depending on what primer you may give Varget another try. I tend to use Fed 210's of 210M's with my rifle. Thanks for the input but the problem with cfe223 is that it is very temperature sensitive. I hunt in weather from over 100 degrees to less than 10. I need something stable.

What twist was the barrel on that 308 win and what was the elevation? I've been curious about those 215's for my PSS.Reloder 17 will get you good velocity with heavier bullets, in a 24" .308 loaded at 2.950" I was getting 2525 fps with a 215 Berger and Reloder 17. However, I have heard it can be temp sensitive.
It was a 10 twist savage at 6600 ft elevation so it stabilized fine. Not sure how an 11 or 12 twist would do at lower elevations....would have to check Berger stability calculator. What twist was the barrel on that 308 win and what was the elevation? I've been curious about those 215's for my PSS.
Another great option in a .308 ha haI just looked lol. I better stick with 175gr
