Anybody shooting the Barnes .30 212 LRX?

Hello!

I'm new to reloading. Do you mind explaining how and why hybrids are immune to seating depth? I think I may be wasting my time and powder. Thanks!
From Berger;
A Tangent Ogive (like our standard BTs) is less sensitive to seating depth but has more drag and a lower BC than a Secant Ogive of the same length
. A Secant Ogive (like our standard VLDS) has a higher BC and lower drag than a traditional Tangent Ogive but can be quite sensitive to seating depth.
A hybrid takes the best of both.

Any more experience with the 212 lrx?

I am seriously considering building a 300 wsm on a long action specifically for this bullet.

Yes. Targets 2,3,4 are five shot groups at different powder charges with the 212's. But again this is while fire forming ( brass had been hydroformed before fire forming).

I'm late to the party but I have been paying with the barnes 212 lrx's for a little while now outta my christensen mesa 300 prc with 24" barrel. I'm using 1x fired hornady brass with fed 215 primers 80.8 gr of H1000. Shoots 2915 with an SD of 8fps. Also shoots 1/2 moa at 1000 or less. I got it to shoot a mile. Best group so far at a mile is 14". All I can say is wind wind wind. Hopefully when weather turns nice I can get it dialed in a little better. Maybe with better brass.

What are you using for a G7?

I use the shooters calculator ballistics chart and use the G1 numbers barnes put out. Which is 0.705 in this case. Gets me pretty close. Can't remember off hand exactly but was within 2 moa at a mile. With that be said I am NOT your normal lr shooter. I am an average redneck with just enough know how to hit something down range. I guess I am a swag kinda guy. Do my calculations and pull the trigger and see how smart I'm not. LOL. I'm not a know everything about everything shooting. I like to reload and I like to shoot. Sorry for being long.
