I'm always working during shot week so have to live vicariously through forums and YouTube for the releases from shot show. It's getting that time of year, anyone have any good rumors?

Amid the piles of junk nobody cares about there always seems to be one or two things that squeak out and are interesting. On the long range side only thing I'd be happy to see is a factory option of a hot 6mm, getting lazy as I age and it's getting easier to run factory supported cartridges.

Outside of that ruger hinted last spring at a 39a in a podcast, while it's probably a long shot that would be a fun toy if they do a stainless one that could survive salt water plinking.

I'll still hold out hope for some optic to plug the gap between lpvo and prs hubbel.... although that's more in the realm of fantasy as it's gotta be the hardest segment to please.

Guy can dream, although we're probably gonna see another 6.5mm between the Creedmoor and prc.... or another 30 super cary type flop... or a straight wall cartridge to split the gap between the legends and bushmaster.

Anyone have any hot takes of new product?

I would like to see a couple of announcements since there is a new administration coming later this month.
1. All reloading components will go back to pre-COVID pricing.
2. Alliant powder will sell to the public again.

That's it…not too much to ask.

It's a nice thought, but nothing is going back to 2019 prices.... well maybe my wages....

I'd settle for some price conformity, retumbo is 28 a pound more than others. I get the dollar has taken a dump, but it's odd that the powder for big boomers are consistently 20+ more a pound more than other powders.

2025 retail is higer than 2021 "gouger" pricing.

Not open to the public.

Nope that's how trades shows are, but the nra show is open in April.

Could get behind a saami 25 prc...

Anyone got any info on the new federal 7mm?

Federal has introduced some flops.... although hornady did that about ten years as well so eveyone goes through a dry spell...

In order of likelihood, most to least likely even though none will probably happen

like weatherby to offer fast twist versions of their cartridges in factory rifles. 1:8 257 wby, 1:8 or 9 300 and 30-378, etc etc

I'd like to see a winchester 70 made for proper long range shooting. I just really like true CRF actions. Manners EH1a style stock or rpr style chassis, offered in proper long range rounds (338 lapua, norma, 6.5/300 PRC, creed, 6gt, any really common good LR target round)

new cartridge 7.62 Western. Identical to 300 WSM brass but longer COAL for medium or long action to seat bullets out far, and 1:8 or 9 twist spec. I really don't want the 6.8 treatment with pushing the shoulder back and ruining the perfect case capacity of the 300. If the have to change it then leave the shoulder location but increase overall case length with a longer neck. That way you could take western brass and easily trim it down for people who want to reload for the old wsm if it ever gets hard to find.

25 creed or prc to incentivize more high BC quarter bore bullets to use in a fast twist 257 weatherby ;)
