Ironically North Dakota and South Dakota have some of the biggest rams and bull elk. One of several reasons for this is because there are very, very few tags given out. I believe there were only 3 sheep tags up for draw in ND this year with 1 auctioned off. Bighorn, Moose and Elk are resident only tags. You only get 1 in a lifetime. These monster sheep and elk don't get much publicity since ND and SD don't let nonresidents hunt them. My dad shot a cow elk in ND 2 years ago. I couldn't believe the size of it.

Huuuuge ram made even better taken by archery. Few would think of South Dakota as having world class sheep.
