I'm giving it a try, I ordered 16 pounds of MP711. I'm going to compare it to the Reloder 26 I have on hand. I have 4 rifles I use it in.

Nothing I can find on the website about MP711 has the reference "similar to RL26"
Am I missing something or was the reference only in an email listing?

Reference was only in the email. They now have 16lbs in stock no more just 8lbs.

Usually they are pretty good. I bought some cfe 223 similar powder and works great. Worth my money when the real thing doesn't exist

i have used powders interchangeable with the reference powders offered, MP625 = Ramshot Hunter, MP638 = Alliant 4000MR, and the Ramshot Tac, sorry don't have their reference #. just do a normal load work up and never had a problem.
remember their reference numbers change with different lots of powder, they don't mix lots of same powder they give it a new number and the number has nothing to do with burn rate so don't think MP625 is faster than MP626 and so on. they are just different lots of powder. also the number given this time won't always be the same the next time for the same powder. just use their reference powders and work up again.

That's kind of screwy isn't it? You'll never know what you're buying.

I haven't used any of their "magnum" powders as I have plenty of the name brands to use. But, I use a lot of their "223" powders and the burn rate varies substantially, so start low and work up.

Yeah, I would definitely start low and work up. A guy on another board thought "similar" was "equal" and went way over pressure, ruining his brass and blowing the primes out of the cases.

I contacted American Reloading about not listing a "similar" on some of their powders. They replied back and now all powders have a similar listed. Fast correction.

Received my order of 16lbs MP711 last week, came FEDEX in two 8lb jugs. Looks the same as RL26 but looks mean nothing.. The powder shipped from Missouri so I had to pay sales tax, the total cost to my door was $23.25 per pound. Glad to have it regardless. Need to finish breaking in a Bartlein in 7SAUM before working up loads but just finished a new 280AI and filled the freezer last week. Not sure when I'll get motivated to try the pull down.
