I'm wondering if I'm crazy for this but I'm thinking about getting rid of a couple of my ar15s and turning them into a nice 300 PRC bolt gun with a NF optic. I really do love looking and holding bolt action rifles they just seem to have more "soul" then an AR15… if I lived out west I would have already made up my mind but I live in WI with only access to a 200 yard range, and won't make it out west for an elk hunt in years. I already own a nice 6.5 Creedmoor with a NF on it, a .22 bolt gun and an inherited 270. What's your thoughts?

I love the cartridge. I've had quite a few .30s over the years but this is one I will definitely be keeping.

It really depends on what you want to do with it. A PRC might be your best bet, but the last 300 mag. I put in the safe was a Savage Impulse in 300win. I've already get a couple of 300rums tossing 225's to 3K fps. My son found the straight pull up his alley, and I already load for 300win (I've had a lh 300win for decades), so we bought it. It's been a heck of a solid performer so far.

My buddy always wanted a 50 BMG, so his wife finally got him one (Barrett). Doesn't have a clue what he's gonna do with it …… but he's happy!!!
