Alliant powder shortage

I worry about the future of Alliant as well, now being under the Kinetic Group brand and owned parentally by Czechoslovak Group.

We'll see how the new owners prioritize things.
I felt the same way when Norma powders became scarce or non-existent. However, I stopped worrying, concentrated on what was readily available, and adjusted accordingly.

Something just work and with enough planning shortages will not effect outcomes
The reloader powders have been in short supply when they were making it. Now it's not even available to the public from what I understand unless you happen to find some old stock on the shelves.

That's precisely my point when I started this thread: https://www.longrangehunting.com/th...the-local-gun-store-empty-handed-rule.255740/ five years ago. I have a pretty good inventory of components already, but I wanted to prove what incremental purchases can do. Many people complained about the shortages but did nothing to prepare for them. And now people complain about the high prices. About two years ago, I purchased some powders for $28/lb that now cost nearly $60.

Many people cannot understand the concept of preparation. I equate it to getting into a small boat in rough water…..without a pfd (personal flotation device).

Some folks refuse to learn from history…..or try to imagine the future! memtb

Exactly.... might not be $30 a lb but won't be $100 a lb if you plan ahead

That's the point of the thread is to help educate me on the best performing powders they supplied so if I see then locally I can get them

I have stocked up on my most used Alliant powders. I started stockpiling when it was still called Hercules. Importation was always sporadic here, as the agents kept changing.
I have RL15, 17, 19, 22 & 25. The newer RL23 & 26 were never available here, it was dropped from importation before these were released. Nowadays, we can't even get Winchester powders.

Cheers.
